As we move towards summer and warmer days, the expectations of guests and clients shift toward refreshment. It’s not just for summer though, research shows iced coffee sales grew by 22% (CAGR) over the last five years, and is now considered a “four-season” drink.
At Nespresso Professional, we believe that coffee should be a versatile offering for venues. Featuring milk or sparkling water, a whole variety of different tastes are possible.
Here, we feature three signature recipes designed to showcase the complexity of our blends, served over ice, to give your customers a refreshing treat:
1. The classic iced coffee: a study in balance
A grand classic prepared just right, unadorned and simple, allowing the ingredients to fully express themselves.
- What you need: 2 capsules of Ristretto or Master Origin India. Milk of choice. Ice cubes or crushed ice.
- How to make: prepare 2 capsules of Ristretto or Master Origin India in espresso (80ml total). Pour cold milk in the glass. Pour the coffee over it. Gently add the ice.
- Served in: a tall glass to highlight the marble effect as the coffee meets the milk.
2. The iced vanilla latte: indulgence, refined
For those seeking a touch of decadence, a flavoured iced latte is the perfect choice:
Served in: a tall clear glass.
What you need: milk frother (Aeroccino). 1 capsule of barista creations sweet vanilla. 90g of ice cubes. 100ml of milk.
How to make: pour the cold milk in the milk frother, and press the start button to get cold milk foam. Add the ice cubes to the glass. Pour the cold milk foam into the glass and mix. Brew a capsule of barista creations sweet vanilla over ice into the glass.
3. The iced nitro: a brew of fire and ice
This is made with a particularly strong turn of the whisk, blending the ice and the coffee into one chill brew:
Served in: a crystal tumbler, perhaps garnished with a twist of citrus to accentuate the coffee’s natural acidity.
What you need: barista device. 1 Ristretto capsule. 100 ml water. 3 ice cubes. 4g sugar.
How to make: first, add the 3 ice cubes (90g or 3.17 oz) into the jug. Brew your espresso coffee (40ml or 1.35 fl oz), pour it on top of the ice and add sugar (optional). Add cold water up to the maximum level marking. close the lid and press the start button on your barista device. Finally, serve the preparation in a recipe glass and enjoy your coffee!
